I loved all three scones I tried today: jalapeno 3-cheese, banana wafer and snickerdoodle. Plenty of parking and its proximity to the Winfield River Walk makes it even more enjoyable!
Excellent scones with an excellent service. Totally recommended for their large selection of flavors, both savory and sweet.
They don't honor their posted hours. Wasted early morning trip

A Winfield morning stop for scones
Scone House Cafe is a Winfield bakery built around one thing: scones, with coffee and tea on the side. The shop describes its lineup as gourmet scones plus coffee, tea and smoothies. Its tagline pitches it as a place to start your morning.
It opens early Tuesday through Sunday and closes by afternoon, with Mondays off. The website also says the cafe is moving to a new spot in downtown Geneva, with an opening date to be posted.
For the town itself, NOAA normals for 1991-2020 put Winfield at 6282 heating degree days and 845 cooling degree days. The same normals give an average temperature of 50.0 degrees F, with a mean high of 60.1 and a mean low of 39.9.
Sweet and savory scones, coffee and catering
Most people come in for a scone and a hot drink. The bakery says everything is made from scratch and baked fresh each day, with bakers starting before sunrise. Sweet flavors share the case with savory ones.
The website names pepperoni and cheese, bacon, and jalapeno with pepper jack among the savory picks, pitched as a light lunch or dinner. If you eat around allergies, the shop lists organic, vegan or dairy-free, and gluten-free options.
Online orders can be placed days ahead. The site says orders placed before 10 am can be picked up the same day. It also takes catering for events and large orders for restaurants, hotels and companies.
It holds a 4.9 rating across 316 reviews. Reviewers mention the friendly staff and owners most, along with the wide range of flavors and the gluten-free choices. A few note that buying several at once adds up in price.
If you are new to Winfield, stop in on a weekday morning, grab a coffee and pair one sweet scone with one savory one to find your favorite.
