Definitely satisfied with David’s work! All artists were friendly and welcoming. Will be going back for another tattoo.

A couple of my friends and I got piercings on my bachelorette trip to San Diego last year. Danny was absolutely incredible - super kind, patient, clean, and detail oriented. He was actually getting ready to leave for the day but made the time to get us all pierced on the last day of our trip. He took his time and made sure everything was perfect. Couldn’t recommend a better piercer. My tragus has healed perfectly and I had no issues! :)

A Pacific Beach walk-in spot for ink and piercings

San Diego Tattoo Company is a tattoo and piercing shop in San Diego, working out of a studio in Pacific Beach. The shop says it takes same day walk-ins and keeps artists on hand for people who just show up. It opens at noon every day and runs into the late evening, a bit later on Friday and Saturday.

A quick note on the town itself. San Diego counts 1994 heating degree days and 1121 cooling degree days a year, per NOAA normals for 1991-2020. The average temperature runs 62.5 degrees F, with an average high of 73.8 and an average low of 51.3.

Fine line tattoos, custom pieces and piercings

The shop bills itself as a home for fine line micro tattoos, meaning small, delicate outline work. It also says it does large pieces in full color or black and grey. Its website names styles such as illustrative, realism and traditional, plus cover ups and custom designs.

The pitch is simple. You bring a drawing or a rough idea, and the artists work it into a tattoo. Body and ear piercing are part of the menu too.

Reviewers give it 4.9 stars across 914 reviews. The thing people mention most is patience: artists who take their time, explain the steps and put first timers at ease. Several also bring up walk-ins handled quickly, help reworking a design, and piercings that healed without trouble.

If you are new in town and have been thinking about a small first tattoo, sketch it on paper and walk in one afternoon to talk it through with an artist.
